Frontiers Enablement Model

The Frontiers Enablement Model is a complete approach to teaching that develops all aspects of a student's character, rather than just focussing on the academic.

10. Maturity

maturityThe overall target of our model is for a student to reach maturity. However, as with Maslow's model, this is not a single end goal, but rather a stage where the student can keep reaching his or her maximum potential.

Maturity signifies a greater awareness of who we are and what we can do. We know when we're operating at this level when we are confident in our abilities and needs, and aware of the difference we can make. We feel "grounded" and self-assured.

A mature student is willing to try new things, and is not shaken when things go wrong, because they have a solid framework to support them. We see many signs of this in our students. For example one student, who initally lacked confidence having been bullied since he was a child, left Frontiers to go on to higher education. When someone at his college tried to attack him, he said, "Whatever you say won't hurt me, because I know who I am." This was a sure sign of his newfound maturity.
