Frontiers Enablement Model

The Frontiers Enablement Model is a complete approach to teaching that develops all aspects of a student's character, rather than just focussing on the academic.

9. Perspective

perspectiveAt Frontiers we endeavour to build up students' esteem and give them a positive identity. However, if left unchecked, this positive identity can turn into arrogance.

Through the Perspective aspect of the model, we encourage individuals to acknowledge that they are not the centre of the universe - that there is more out there than just them. For example, we might introduce them to ecology, community, faith or the aesthetic.

Students' appreciation of their place in the world is often achieved through the contributions that they make in it. Doing things for others allows students to gain perspective into their identity.

A key part of our programme is for students to go out into the community and help others. For example, each year we take students to work at a Bulgarian orphanage. There, students begin to appreciate the benefits they have, to learn what it is to help others, and hopefully gain an attitude of humility.
