Frontiers has been chosen from thousands of organisations from across the UK to receive a prestigious award from the Centre for Social Justice that is awarded to “poverty fighting groups that have shown exceptional courage and innovation in tackling Britain's toughest social problems.”

On 14th July at a London award ceremony hosted by GMTV presenter Emma Crosby, and attended by senior politicians, celebrities and the media, Frontiers director Jon Berry was presented with a cheque for £10,000 in recognition of (in the words of the CSJ) “the remarkable improvement on attendance rates, and the outstanding personal approach you take to developing a learning programme suitable for each individual young person.”

Jon Berry said, “This award means a great deal to us. It shows us that there is a whole community that supports our work – we aren’t alone in striving to bring about change. We appreciate the acknowledgement that what we do is relevant, and are delighted at the recognition of our success; it is an honour to receive this award in the presence of these other incredible social partners.”

The Centre for Social Justice is an independent think tank established by Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith MP in 2004 to seek effective solutions to the poverty that blight parts of Britain. Their mission is to put social justice at the heart of British politics and to build an alliance of poverty fighting organisations in order to see a reversal of social breakdown in the UK.
