Frontiers - New Horizons Trustees

Richard Kennell

Former deputy headteacher at Gillotts School in Henley on Thames (2002-6), Richard now runs KFES Ltd, a small education consultancy. His innovative curriculum design contributed to rising standards that now see Gillotts as the top performing school in the County.

Dianne Brooks

With a passion for education and young people, Dianne taught for 15yrs in a South Oxon state school, before running her own business supplying educational resources to families and schools. In 2001, she joined Central Berks Education Business Partnership, where she has been instrumental in developing a range of groundbreaking Alternative Curricula.

Winner of Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2007, experienced teacher & manager in further education, Jon has held strategic positions in several blue chip companies, designing and implementing change programmes. His tireless enthusiasm and committment to disengaged young people have opened up new possibilities and led to a brighter future for many.

Head of Operations: Kim George

As well as being an international Ski Instructor in telemark and alpine skiing, Kim has over 35 years of continuous professional experience of working outdoors - in outdoor education centres, as an advisor to local education authorities on climbing, caving, mountaineering, skiing & water sports, and in outdoor management training.

General Manager: Martyn Griffiths

With a background in conservation, Martyn has a huge passion for the outdoors and nature. Over the last 8 years he has built his experience within the voluntary sector,  where he has had the opportunity to study and work, both in UK and overseas. Within Frontiers he has also worked as a youth mentor and led a previous expedition to Bulgaria.

Operations Manager: Aidan Clayton

A professional Photographer with a background in Formula 1, the BBC & 17 years in Mental Health work, Aidan has a broad range of experience when encouraging our students to achieve their hidden potential.


Delivery Staff

Welfare Officer: Janie Casemore

A former dental nurse, Janie worked as a receptionist with a range of organisations. Initially our receptionist, Janie found her forte working directly with young people. Her innate caring and ability to develop rapport has given Janie a way in to work with students who have otherwise been unwilling to engage.

Student Mentor: Dave Harney

After ten years working in mental health and with young offenders, Dave is experienced at supporting people with a range of backgrounds. A trained mountain bike leader, Dave has cycled across two countries and raced regularly. Having had a difficult time himself at school, Dave is well-placed to develop rapport with students, and is generous with his time and energy.

Student Mentor: Ben Carpenter

Having studied Leisure & Sports Management at Cardiff University, Ben has travelled the world extensively, including a trip sailing across the Atlantic. With a career which includes coaching sport in schools and working as a Multi Activity Instructor at PGL, Ben is often seen by students as a 'big brother' role model.

Children's Activities Coordinator: Anne Jordan

Anne runs many Frontiers parties and Wild Days, and organises camps for primary children. A qualified primary teacher, outdoor events leader and outdoor education coordinator, Anne has completed extensive wilderness training.

Children's Activity Leader: Anna Parker

A qualified playworker, Anna is experienced in working outside with children of all ages. Passionate about developing a love of nature in others, Anna also works with children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Wales. In addition to her playwork qualifications she is trained in outdoor first aid, positive behaviour management, food hygiene and green woodcraft skills.

Throughout her twelve years in administration, Mandy had worked for a range of large international and small independent companies.

An EVS volunteer from Romania, Adela assists us with our New Horizons programme. Adela has a passion for photography, nature and the environment.
