Our parties are based on the following themes:

Wilderness Survival

Come and be an intrepid explorer stranded in the wilderness. In order to survive all weathers and challenges you'll need to build shelters, collect firewood and make it past the bears and wolves to retrieve lost supplies.

Enjoy food and drink around the campfire, safe from the approaching storm and the beasts of the forest. Find out how well you'd survive in the wild...

Scouting Mission

Test your stealth and camouflage skills - local Hostiles have stolen your belongings and you need to find them... Build hides, camouflage yourself and stalk through the woods. Your reward will be a feast around the campfire at basecamp.

Note to parents: For this event we recommend that all participants wear practical natural (brown, green, black, etc.) coloured or camouflaged clothing and shoes.

Woodland Safari

Can you see the badger’s burrow or the squirrel’s nest? Identify the sounds in the woods? See what tracks and signs show that a fox has been past? We'll play games that open your senses and show you the secrets that the woods hold. We’ll build a campfire and enjoy food and drink.

Note to parents: For this event we recommend that all participants wear practical natural (brown, green, black, etc.) coloured or camouflaged clothing and shoes.

Girls Go Wild

You'll play tracking games, learn to follow a trail, find signs of wild animals and move silently through the woods. You'll build your own shelters using natural materials, light a fire with flint & steel and learn about the woods around you.

The Cost

Up to 16 children: £275
17 to 30 children: £395

For up to 16 children, we provide one event leader and a support worker. For 17 and more children, we provide a second event leader, hence the increased price.

The Location: We meet at either Path Hill Farm or Gutteridge's Wood layby and use the woods nearby. Both locations are near Pangbourne.

Please note: The King Charles Head pub is now closed and has no connection with Frontiers. Please respect these neighbours and do not knock on their door. We no longer use it as a meeting point, but instead use Gutteridge's Wood layby nearby.

Timing: Parties are 2.5 hours long. We usually run parties on weekends, but weekday events can be arranged.

Pubs for parents! See a list of local pubs if you'd like a drink or meal while your children attend a party.

Food: Hotdogs (with sausages cooked on an open fire made by the birthday child), plus water and squash.

Please inform us if any children are vegetarian or have other dietary requirements. Parents are welcome to bring drinks and snacks, including birthday cake.

Age: 5-14 (Ages 5-7 require additional parental support). Each party may be run differently depending on the age and abilities of children in the group.

What to wear/bring:

  • Warm, old clothes, which you don't mind getting wet or muddy.
  • Long trousers, no matter what the weather, to protect from brambles & nettles.
  • Gloves & woolly hat in cold weather, sun hat & sun cream if hot.
  • Waterproof jacket (and trousers if you have them).
  • Wellington boots – fantastic for mud or long wet grass, or strong shoes, boots or trainers if the weather is very dry.

Parent Participation: There needs to be at least ONE parent or guardian attending each party with up to 16 children, and TWO parents if there are 17 or more. If more parents want to attend (and participate), that's fine!
